Staples
Kholash Dry Dates from Thar Dates' Farm are sun-dried, nutrient-rich dates grown in the Thar desert, celebrated for their naturally sweet taste and chewy texture. Packed with essential minerals, they're a healthy energy source for daily snacking. Ideal for enhancing dishes or enjoyed on their own.
About Thar Dates' Farm:
Three friends with diverse backgrounds - a banker, environmentalist and agronomist came together with a dream to grow healthy chemical free fruits in the great Indian Thar Desert. The arid environment of Thar desert is ideal for the cultivation of Medjool dates, they also have Pomegranates. The drip irrigation is completely powered by solar energy. They are using compost manures made out of grass fed goat and sheep's waste.
Check out the video on how organic manure is prepared at the farm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NrJkRQ9pmI
Note: The white stuff you may occasionally see on the outside of a date is the natural sugar crystalizing and making it’s way to the outside of the date. It’s totally fine to eat, but if you don’t like the looks of the white stuff or if you want the date to be softer you can wrap it in a damp paper towel and microwave it for 5 seconds, the date will plump up and the sugar will be absorbed back into the date.
