This citrus cultivar is known for its amazing sweet taste. Unlike Oranges - these fruits don't have the tanginess of Oranges and are primarily sweet.
Grown by very few farmers, the variety is citrus is great for juicing as well as being a table fruit.
Daisy tangerines, also called Daisy mandarins, are a hybrid variety of Citrus reticulata.
They are high in vitamin C and dietary fiber. They also contain potassium, folic acid, and thiamine. All tangerines contain beneficial beta carotene and antioxidants.
The key features of Daisy Tangerine include:
- It's sweet orange with little or no sourness
- It's juicy and can be used for juicing
- It can be had as table fruit.
- It has very few seeds which insures you do not get the bitter seed oil taste when you press them in your juicer.
- Children love it.
These are excellent for eating fresh, since their skins peel off easily and they divide into sections well.
Use the juice on its own, mixed with other fruit juice, or in sauces or desserts.
The zest can be used for garnishes, baked goods, and sauces as well. As with other citrus, choose tangerines that are heavy for their size.
