Department of Horticulture along with ICAR (Indian Council For Agricultural Research) is working with a collective of farmers in Purul region to grow organic Kiwi . Most farms here are in the 3rd year of conversion and are growing excellent quality Kiwi Fruit. The collective is headed by Mr. Hiili Thingba - who is the chairman of SPOOOK (Senapati Producers' Organization Of Organic Kiwi Fruit) and has been spearheading the mission to make Manipuri Kiwis popular across the country.
