Mangosteen - Organically Grown - 1 KG
Fruits
A sweet, juicy fruit with a taste like no other, Mangosteen originated in Indonesia and is majorly grown in south-east asia and south-west parts of India. It has a deep reddish-purple colored rind when ripe. The mangosteen has flavors that taste like a combination of litchi, strawberry, peach and vanilla ice cream.
The fruit and the skin of Mangosteen are incredibly potent disease fighters and offer numerous health benefits. The fruit is also valued for its high antioxidant concentrations categorized as xanthones which are a focus for cancer treatment and prevention. Xanthones also protect against heart attacks and bolster the immune system. Besides its antioxidant value, mangosteen’s nutritional profile also provides additional health benefits by helping control blood sugar levels and aiding the digestive system.
Mangosteens are eaten by removing the rind and eating the pulp after taking the seed off. Mangosteen pulp can be used in a variety of fresh juices, mocktails or even to make purees and sauces. It can also be used to decorate puddings and cakes.
Note: Please do not refrigerate mangosteen - it can result in dehydration and spoilage.
