Quite a regal name isn't it? These royal large mangoes have a heady aroma, are sweet in taste and are quite juicy. Himayat is a commercial variety of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. They are also known as Himayuddin , Chapta, Safeda, Baneshan, Imampas, Himayat and Chapai.
These mangoes are from the farms of someone we hold in high regard. Jagadeesh Reddy's farms are in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. He has been following natural farming methods in 40 acres of land. He also works with other farmer groups in the region to promote natural farming practices. Fruits delivered will be in raw to semi ripe stage. To hasten the ripening you can wrap them in a paper bag and keep them. It will turn soft and slight yellowish when ripe. You can press them gently to judge ripeness.
