The Kalepadi mango is a traditional and cherished mango variety originating from the southern regions of India, especially Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka. Celebrated for its unique aroma, smooth texture, and early bearing season, Kalepadi is considered one of the premium indigenous mangoes of the region, often sought after by mango connoisseurs and traditional households alike.
Kalepadi mangoes are medium-sized, typically weighing between 200–300 grams. They have an oblong shape with a distinct curve, and the skin is smooth, thin, and greenish-yellow when ripe, sometimes retaining a tinge of green even at full maturity. The fruit has a fiberless, soft, and juicy pulp with a vibrant golden-yellow color. Its stone (seed) is relatively thin, allowing for a higher pulp-to-seed ratio, which adds to its desirability.
What truly sets Kalepadi apart is its intense, sweet aroma that fills the air even before the fruit is fully ripened. Red Hill Organic Farm is a certified natural farm located in Chittoor, nurtured with a passion for sustainable agriculture. After spending 11 years working in Germany, Canada, and Singapore as a Technical Lead Electronics Engineer at Boeing, I returned to my roots to pursue my passion for farming. Today, I cultivate 30 acres of fertile red soil, growing a diverse range of fruits including mango, papaya, sapota, banana, guava, ash gourd, black jamun, and more. We follow traditional cow-based farming methods inspired by Subhash Palekar and Isha Foundation, using rainwater harvesting, Jeevamrutham, and herbal kashayams to enrich our soil and crops naturally. Our fruits are 100% chemical-free, naturally ripened, and delivered fresh. With over 35 varieties of mangoes, we celebrate the richness of biodiversity while staying committed to sustainable and organic farming.
