Feeling nostalgic? The classic Golden Delicious apple is the apple to turn to. It’s sweet with a hint of tart on the inside with a smooth and fine flesh. Every bite is a blast back to the good old days. You might think Golden Delicious is an offspring of Red Delicious, but other than being apples, they aren’t closely related. Golden Delicious was discovered as a chance seedling growing on the Mullins’ family farm in Clay County, West Virginia in the early 1900s. In 1916, the apple was released commercially as a companion to Red Delicious. Golden Delicious apples are pale green to golden yellow in color and speckled with small lenticels. These apples are firm, crisp, and white-fleshed.
By the way, fun fact about apples - they act as a natural teeth whitener and prevent bad breath. And eating apple peel can help with obesity - because of the Ursolic acid it contains.

The thin skin and juiciness of Golden Delicious makes it a baker’s dream. Other than freezing, you can do pretty much anything with this apple. These have a good shelf life since they are absolutely fresh - you can eat them for multiple weeks. It will turn yellowish You can store them in normal temperature to increase sweetness and in fridge to extend shelf life.
