The Queen pineapple is spiny, golden yellow in colour. They are smaller in size with pleasant aroma and flavour. Its sweetness (TSS of 18-20 %) and unique aroma differentiates it from pineapples of other states of Northeast region. Manipur is famous for its organic queen pineapples which they have been exporting to other countries from last two years
Queen pineapples are more tolerant of diseases temperature variations than other types of pineapple making it suitable for organic cultivation.

Department of Horticulture along with ICAR (Indian Council For Agricultural Research) is working with a collective of farmers in Purul region to grow organic Kiwi . Most farms here are in the 3rd year of conversion and are growing excellent quality Kiwi Fruit. The collective is headed by Mr. Hiili Thingba - who is the chairman of SPOOOK (Senapati Producers' Organization Of Organic Kiwi Fruit) and has been spearheading the mission to make Manipuri Kiwis popular across the country.
