EGK Natural Farm is an inspiring agricultural venture founded by Mr. Nagasatish, a former corporate employee who decided to pursue a more meaningful and sustainable path in life. Dissatisfied with his job and longing for the nurturing environment of his childhood home, he made the bold decision to resign and return to his village to be with his parents.
Initially, Nagasatish joined his relatives' input shop as a helper, which involved supplying chemical inputs to farmers. However, as he became more aware of the negative impact of chemical farming on both human health and the environment, he began to question the ethics of his work. This realization motivated him to shift towards conventional farming practices.
The turning point in Nagasatish journey came when his mother fell ill and required medication. This experience made him realize the importance of consuming wholesome, chemical-free food for maintaining good health. He embarked on a journey of research and exploration, during which he discovered the principles of Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF) pioneered by Subhash Palekar.
Inspired by ZBNF principles, Nagasatish decided to embrace a natural and sustainable approach to farming. He acquired desi cows, known for their beneficial impact on the soil, and started cultivating desi rice varieties. By following ZBNF techniques, he minimized the use of external inputs and relied on organic and natural methods to nurture the soil and crops.
The positive effects of Nagasatish transformation were soon apparent. He experienced newfound energy and vitality, and his family members benefited from consuming the natural, chemical-free produce from their farm. Recognizing the potential of his farm to provide healthy and sustainable food, Nagasatish started supplying his products directly to end customers, ensuring they too could enjoy the benefits of natural farming.
