Avalose Podi (Roasted Rice Powder) is a traditional and popular evening snack of Kerala. This is a combination of roasted raw rice flour, grated coconut and cumin seeds. This snack is usually eaten along with sugar or honey or with ripe banana. It pairs well with cup of steaming tea or coffee. Avalose podi can be stored for almost a year if it properly stored.
This is home made by Mr.Joseph Maprakavil in Mampoil village, Kannur District, Kerala. He has been practicing organic farming in his 20 acres of land which shares its boundary with the forests in Coorg district. His farm is group certified under INDOCERT organic certification.
