Kashmiri Walnuts with Shell - Natural - 500 GM
Staples
Kashmiri Whole shell walnuts – are known as Doon in Kashmiri language, Akhrot in Hindi are very tasty and retain their freshness for a longer time compared to kernels as the shell is retained. Walnuts are considered as “brain” food (kernels resemble the brain) & have a whole lot of health benefits due to presence of proteins, vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids.
This has DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), an omega 3 fatty acid and also more poly phenolic compounds than any other nut, which protect brain health in infants and adults, improves cognitive performance and memory and also prevents age related cognitive decline. Among all dry fruits, anti oxidative efficacy of walnuts is better than others like almonds, cashews and raisins as walnuts have highest phenolic content compared to other dry fruits.
Usage : Can be eaten as a snack or soaked in water overnight and consumed on empty stomach. Soaked walnuts are easier to digest, helps reduce bad cholesterol in our body and nutrients in the walnuts are better absorbed. You can use them to garnish salads and desserts, toast and add to sandwiches and parathas, pesto sauce for pasta add them to smoothies or make some walnut toffees or make some banana walnut cakes !!
