You may be wondering why the photo seems to be white while the name says “black” rice. Please note that this is white coloured! Kun-kuni black joha name is termed so because the rice covers are little black in color and the rice is little off white than the others. That's how the name came along as Kun-Kuni Black Joha.

Joha (zoha saul) is a variety of rice grown in India, notable for its aroma, delicate and excellent taste. Assam is the largest cultivator of this rice, it is primarily grown through paddy field farming.

There are various traditional types of joha rice available in Assam. Tulsi Joha, Kola Joha, Rampal joha and Manki Joha.

Kun-kuni Kola( Black) Joha is a unique variety of Joha with its rich flavour, taste and aroma. The most aromatic among the entire joha varieties available. "Black" goes for its off-white ash color of the rice that gives its unique classification.
