Leeks (
Allium ampeloprasum
var.
porrum
) are a versatile and flavorful vegetable belonging to the onion family, closely related to garlic, shallots, and scallions. Known for their mild, sweet onion-like taste, leeks are a staple in many cuisines worldwide, particularly in soups, stews, and casseroles.
Unlike Hydroponics, where various chemicals are used to supply nutrients for the plants, in Aquaponics, fish are grown and fed - and the fish waste is processed in the Nitrogen cycle to create nutrients for the plants. This is a 100% closed loop cycle where the plants and fish are mutually dependent - the plants clean the water for the fish, and in turn the fish create nutrients for the plants.
Aquaponics cannot use chemical hydroponic nutrients or chemical pesticides because that would harm the fish and break the cycle and needs to use high quality natural fish feed that doesn't harm the plants. This uses 95% less water than conventional agriculture in a 100% re-circulating system.
Aquafoundry, an innovative leader in the AgroTech sector, is revolutionizing sustainable agriculture through our cutting-edge Aquaponics and Bioponics systems. Our methods bypass traditional soil, fertilizers, and pesticides, marking a new chapter in the production of high-quality Truly organic crops.
With more than ten years of experience in Aquaponics, we've seamlessly blended IoT and AI technologies with microbial science to foster an ideal environment for growing crops and fish together. Our unique strategy merges the strengths of separate Aquaponics and Bioponics systems, employing organic waste, fish by-products, and beneficial bacteria to create a nutrient-rich water source for our plants, while preserving the health of our aquatic ecosystem. This integration has notably improved both the yield and nutritional content of our produce.
