Janani Farms
Rasabale Banana - Organically Grown - 500 GM
Fruits
The name "Rasabale" is derived from the Kannada word
'rasa'
meaning juice or essence, and
'bale'
meaning banana, reflecting its juicy, flavorful nature. When ripe, the fruit has a thin, delicate peel that turns bright yellow with occasional brown speckles. Inside, the flesh is ivory white, soft, and almost melts in the mouth. The taste is intensely sweet with floral undertones and a hint of tartness, making it a favorite among banana enthusiasts and traditional households.
Rasabale is known not only for its superior eating quality but also for its cultural and medicinal significance. It is often used in traditional South Indian offerings, Ayurvedic preparations, and home remedies, believed to aid digestion and soothe the stomach due to its mild acidity and easy digestibility.
About Janani Farms:
Janani Farms is located in Mudukanapura village, T Narsipura Taluk, Mysore District. The farm follows the ZBNF model of natural farming and techniques.
We have been growing lentils, pulses, vegetables, ragi, brown top millets, groundnuts and paddy on a rotational basis since 2019. A year ago, coconut, arecanut, and other fruit plants such as jackfruit and mango were planted. Banana (Ellaki variety) is used as an intercrop. Greens, chillies, radish, and other vegetables are grown on a small scale.
Since beginning, the farm has used chemical-free practices. The use of tractors or heavy machinery for tilling is limited. Jeevarmutha is distributed to improve soil health and to control pests, along with neemastra.
Horsegram and cowpea are grown as green mulching plants that aid in nitrogen fixation. Trenches are dug and covered with dry waste across the field to reduce soil erosion, build humus, and increase microbial activity. On occasionally, farmyard manure is used to boost crop yield.
Janani Farms and Vanasiri natural farm, which is located in a nearby village are setting an example of sustainable and eco-friendly economy model for farmers in the surrounding community.
