Purple passion fruit has a round, deep purple rind with a soft, juicy interior filled with aromatic, tangy-sweet pulp and small edible seeds. Its flavor is a tropical blend of citrus, pineapple, and guava notes.
About Manjanna Shetty Family Farm (MSFF):
MSFF is an all organic fruit farm located in Bellare of Sullia Taluk in Dakshina Kannada. Some of the fruits grown here are rambutan, mangosteen, avocado, papaya, banana, longan and some more fruits for collection. Along with these, we also grow rice, turmeric, pepper, coconut, arecanut, vegetables round the year.
The inputs used for the farm are cowshed manure, Jeevamritha, oil cakes, charred soil, wood ash, WDC. Pest control is left to be handled by the plants naturally and under severe conditions we do use wood ash, neem oil, fermented coconut water, cow urine.
Chethan Shetty, general farmer in MSFF is a mechanical engineer with industrial sales background, had worked for a German firm for 7 years in Bangalore. With an intention to live in the family raised farm, shifted for good in 2017 and set up the fruit orchard. This is our second commercial crop of rambutans.
