Dasheri Mangoes originated in Dasheri village near Kakori in Uttar Pradesh. In 18th century they first made an appearance in the gardens of the Nawabs of Lucknow. Since then they have been cultivated across India. This particular cultivar has elongated fruits with greenish to yellow colour. It has a unique fragrance and the yellowish juicy pulp is fibrous and delicious in taste.
We bring you Dasheri from this famous vintage mango orchard near Bhopal - Kalapani Mango Orchard. The orchard grows 15+ varieties of mangos without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Even now, folks are known to drive down from 50-60 km to the orchard just to taste these mangos. No wonder then, that these are one of the costliest mangos listed on Farmizen this season !
