Nak Pear - Natural - 500 Ml
Fruits
Nak Pear has distinct qualities that set it apart from other pear varieties. Here's a breakdown of what makes it unique:
Shape and Appearance: Nak pears are usually medium to large-sized and have a rounded, somewhat elongated shape, similar to European pears. The skin is light green to yellowish when ripe, often with a subtle red or pink blush.
Texture: The flesh of the Nak pear is firm and crisp when freshly picked but becomes softer as it ripens. Its texture is grainy, a bit like the Asian pear, but it can be slightly softer and more buttery when fully ripened.
Flavor: Nak pears are known for their juicy, sweet flavor with a hint of tartness. As the pear ripens, the sweetness becomes more pronounced, making it highly enjoyable to eat fresh.
Ripening: This pear variety ripens after being harvested, making it essential to give them time to soften after picking, especially if bought early in the season. Once ripe, they should be consumed quickly, as they can become overly soft.
Seasonality: Nak pears are generally harvested in late summer to early fall (August to October) depending on the climate. In South Asia, they are often a late-summer fruit.
Uses: Nak pears are versatile. While they are often eaten fresh due to their sweet flavor and juicy texture, they are also used in salads, desserts, jams, and preserves. They can be baked, poached, or used in fruit tarts.
