Made from organically grown Sugarcane from our farms in Kollegal !! On conducting the brix test, it revealed a brix value of 24% !!!
Brix value is a measure of sugar content which infers a high organic carbon content in the soil which is an indication of good agriculture practices. One of the principles of organic farming is to build up the soil carbon which can be measured alternatively by soil tests.
How its Made :
-A traditional process is followed to make the jaggery cubes
-The juice is extracted from the cane and heated in a pan until it becomes thick and viscous
- The liquid is taken off the flame and poured into square moulds and allowed to cool
-The crushed cane is used as a fuel for the fire to heat the juice and the excess crushed cane is composted
-The ash from the fireplace is spread on the farmland to enhance the potassium content of the soil as a natural replacement for the chemically synthesised fertiliser
- Hence there is no waste generated in the process and is more environmentally sustainable
