Jaggery Block - Organic - 1 kg
Staples
Jaggery contains more nutrients than refined sugar because of its molasses content.
Molasses is a nutritious by-product of the sugar making process, which is usually removed when making refined sugar.
Including the molasses adds a small amount of micronutrients to the final product.
Like sugar, jaggery is versatile. It can be grated or broken up, and then used as a replacement for refined sugar in any food or drink.
About the farmer:
Given his educational qualification Akash, like most of us, could have opted for any promising profession. He rather chose to be a organic farmer and also promotes organic practices.
He has around 25 acres of land in a village near Jhansi, Madhya Pradesh where he grows various types of grain, pulses, basmati rice, garlics, turmeric using organic farming techniques for more than 20 years now. He employs multilayer farming.
The distinguishing feature about his farm produce is that all his crops are grown using desi/indigenous varieties of seeds. No hybrid seeds get used in farms.
He has carefully developed a seed bank of all indigenous seeds over years which is now being used by lot of organic farmers of North India.
