Don't miss out on this traditional rice variety that is oh-so-healthy from Tamil Nadu.The name Thooyamalli(thooya- pure, malli- jasmine) is inspired from a freshly blossomed jasmine flower. This is boiled semi-polished white rice which you can use for your daily consumption as a substitute for Sona Masoori/Ponni.
Being an indigenous variety, Thooyamalli is hardy and pest resistant. This rice is a gift from our ancestors to remind us of the wondrous bounty nature holds within her womb and nurtures.
We are delighted to partner with Kaadu Organics to bring to you this indigenous variety of fragrant rice harvested in January from Senthil's farm. The crop's duration lasts for about 135-140 days. Kaadu Organics have been practising chemical-free farming for the past 5 years. They are certified by TNOCD(Tamil Nadu Organic Certification Department). Natural farming techniques like intercropping, regular use of Jeevamrutham, cow dung, buttermilk solution, panchagavya are followed at the farm.
