The Nagpur Orange is a complete delight for your taste buds. It is GI tagged indicating the geographical labelling given to this variety of oranges from Nagpur. The Nagpur oranges blossom during the Monsoon season and are ready to be harvested from the month of December. The orange crop here grows twice a year. The fruits are available from September to December is Ambiya which has a slightly sour taste. It is followed by the sweeter Mrig crop in January.
Some studies say the Nagpur orange because of its excellence, spread widely in the orient and could be the progenitor of other highly regarded mandarins of China and other countries
We are bringing you naturally grown chemical free Nagpur Oranges from Mahesh Mhaske's orchard in Nagpur. His farming practices include regular use of Jeevamrut, Ghan Jeevamrut for soil nourishment and spraying natural pest repellents such as Dashparni ark, Agniastra, Brahmastra.
About Mahesh Mhaske:
Mahesh Mhaske, a management graduate who ran a computer hardware business now manages a 14.5 acres of farm. He adopted Subhash Palekar's Natural Farming technique 6 years ago. Mahesh is working towards growing the region's first apple crop in his farm. He currently grows oranges, sweet lime, drumstick and pulses like tur dal planted as inter-crop.
