Njalipoovan Banana - Organically Grown - 1 KG
Fruits
Tiny and small-sized, The Njalippoovan is naturally flavored, aromatic, and sweeter compared to other larger varieties, it is also known as Rasakadali or the Ladies finger banana.
The origins of the banana are complex and convoluted, but it is widely agreed that Bananas were originally found in Southeast Asia, mainly in India. India’s fertile soils support hundreds of banana varieties, but farmers only cultivate roughly a dozen or so varieties commercially.
Historical records mention that Alexander the Great was impressed with the exotic taste of the kadali phalam (the Sanskrit name for the banana) and carried the fruit from India to the Middle East, where it was rechristened as banan (an Arabic word for finger) by Arab traders.
