Commercially available raisins are pre treated with chemicals to fasten the drying process. Mechanical drying is faster but degrades the beneficials nutrients. Sun drying although time consuming is the best way to process grapes to raisins

Abdul Majid Magray is a farmer who lives in Lethpora village of Pampore in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. This beautiful village is surrounded by lush green farms and Wasturwan mountains. Saffron, walnuts, Mamra almonds and various types of berries are grown by residents of this area. Majid is the head of the family living with his wife and three sons. One of his sons hold a doctorate degree in sociology, another one in plant sciences, and his youngest son is a Mechanical Engineer. However, they consider themselves farmers first and work shoulder to shoulder with their father in their own farm.
