Red Royal Kalap Apples - Organic - 1 KG (Offer Price)

The picturesque orchards of Karba settlement in the remote village of Kalap are nestled at altitudes above 8,500 ft above sea level.
These precious few orchards are ringed on all sides by rhododendron, blue pine and oak jungles. The Red Royal apples in these orchards are lovingly maintained by farmers who toil in this unforgiving terrain.
The trees are nurtured with many basketfuls of cow dung manure and compost from forest leaves. The remote location cut off from a road means that it is nonviable to carry chemical fertilizers and insecticides up here.
Also since it is an isolated area away from main agriculture areas, nature is kind to these trees.
Apples grown in these altitudes are firm and extremely crunchy. They are deep red in colour and their sweetness is slightly milder since they get limited sunlight at that height.
These apples are carried to customers in an arduous journey. They are harvested and then have to be hauled on horses and mules for 5-6 hours to the road down a dangerous and very slippery path.
