Ayurveda says "Drakshaa Phalottamaa", which means of all the fruits, the grape is the best. Raisins are dried grapes. The drying process preserves and concentrates the antioxidants, polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins and nutrients of raisins that can benefit overall health. Due to its medicinal properties, it increases the moistness of our body tissues and softens the dried ones. Hence the name "Mrudavika". Raisins are gluten, saturated fat and cholesterol-free. They are rich in fibre, potassium, iron, calcium & other essential nutrients. Raisin alleviates the Vata & Pitta Doshas.
Natural Golden(BROWN) Raisin
Sangli is recognized as one of the main growers of grapes in India. To provide the world with the best quality raisins, our farm follows the traditional method to produce the best quality juicy & nutrient-rich dark brown to golden raisins. We handpick fully ripened grapes from the naturally grown farm and simply wash with fresh water to remove any dust or dirt from the grapes and then spread them over the ground which is covered with air circulating cloth or sheet to avoid direct sunlight. The natural sun-drying process takes more time as compared to the chemical drying process. Finally, raisins are traditionally hand sorted by experienced village women artisans.

Note: The intent of identification of Soilaroma raisin as golden is to highlight the unique colour of raisins when they are very freshly dried and are free from any preservatives.
Since at soilaroma we avoid use of any chemical and use traditional methods of processing with minimum use of machines, the process of drying grapes in sunlight varies drastically. Lighter sun light and average summer temperature gives grapes their unique golden colour, when the sun is very bright and temperatures are higher then this natural process tend to turn raisin color to brown.
Over the time natural oxidization process turns raisins brown. So don't panick when you see brown colour raisins in the packet, they are still made with same quality standards and are just as tasty as golden raisins.
About Soilaroma
This is Sumit Kinikar from Bhilawadi, a small lovely village on the banks of the Krishna River in Maharashtra's Sangli district. We are fortunate to have beautiful fields surrounding the villages, as well as rich biodiversity, thanks to the river Krishna.
I am a fourth-generation farmer who has been operating our farm in a completely organic manner under the brand name SOILAROMA since January 2019. At Soilaroma, we believe in reviving long-forgotten ancient farming practises and inventing innovative ways to boost the nutritional value of farm produce with the goal of eliminating artificial chemical content in our food.
We are also working on regenerative farming with a zero-waste concept where we control and compensate for CO2 released during farming and processing activity. We are also working on multi-cropping, slow farm practice, traditional & ethical processing and eco-friendly packaging models to create a sustainable environment within the farm. With a mission to protect our native seeds, which are capable of handling India's weather conditions easily, we cultivate only indigenous crops.
