Introducing Our Honey Sun-Dried Arabica Coffee: A Sweet Symphony of Flavor

Embrace the extraordinary with our Honey Sun-Dried Arabica Coffee – a remarkable coffee experience that combines the exquisite taste of Arabica beans with the natural sweetness of sun-drying and honey processing methods.

Honey sun-dried coffee is made from grade AA Arabica cherries. They are stored in a temperature-controlled barrel and left to ferment for a week. The cherries are churned every day. During this process, the bean absorbs the fruity flavor of the cherry. It is then sun-dried, pulped, and roasted to give the fruity flavor. (Honey is mentioned here because it has a fruity flavor and it's less acidic compared to the other coffees)

Arabica beans are infused with mucilage which gives it's pleasant fruity flavour. It had a heavy body and a buttery mouthful that was perfectly finished off with an aftertaste of bittersweet chocolate. This coffee is best for black coffee, which is low in acidity

The uniqueness of Indian Coffee - Indian coffees are renowned the world over as “ SHADE GROWN COFFEE”. This is an eco-friendly way of growing coffee both Arabica & Robusta varieties under the shade of native trees, thus encouraging the local fauna & monsoon rains. Arabicas need heavier shade in comparison to Robustas, by the very nature of the varieties. Off late, due to the vagaries of climate changes & intercropping, overhead irrigation is employed to meet the needs of coffee plants during pre-blossoming & post-blossoming.

Eco-Friendly Infrastructure & cultural activities in our plantations: To maintain eco-sustainability, increase production & maintain a balance we have adopted overhead irrigation using underground deadlines, with fixed raiser pipes with QRCs. The water source is from a tank that is fed by natural springs without obstructing free-flowing streams. The tank is used for fish rearing. For modern diversified crops like avocados solar-powered pumps are deployed for drip irrigation. Where possible sustainable manuring is utilised in the form of Waste Decomposer (WDC). Composting using Cow manure, Sheep manure, and tree litter, composted in specially built composting pits. GoKrupamurtha, Jeevamrutha & Vermicompost are also used.

About Farm: Igoor is fortunate to lie in an area blessed with great favorable weather, was administered by enlightened kingdoms & got developed both in horticultural produce in addition to commercial crops. The trend continued even with the British Raj. Vast tracts were identified to cultivate commercial crops like Cardamom, Pepper, Coffee, Ginger, etc,. This resulted in an abundance of skilled workforce locally. When the local families started taking an interest in these fields, they started acquiring these fields from the British who were on the wane. It’s interesting to note that IGOOR is the second oldest Coffee-growing region in India, next only to ‘Bababudangiri’ in Chickmagaluru!!. ‘IGOOR FAMILY’ thus emerged as the leader in the profession and continues to be one of the largest & respected families in the commercial agricultural fields. The present generation of Igoorians is 6th in the lineage of coffee, cardamom, and avocado growers. As many other opportunities started coming up, some limbs of the family migrated.
