Once roasted, allow them to cool before rubbing them in a clean kitchen towel to remove the skins. Enjoy them as a snack, in baked goods, or chopped and sprinkled on salads for added crunch and flavor. If oven not available , one can roast then in a simple pan on a gas as well untill the externel cover comes brown . Remove the shell and enjoy a superfood nut

Abdul Majid Magray is a farmer who lives in Lethpora village of Pampore in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. This beautiful village is surrounded by lush green farms and Wasturwan mountains. Saffron, walnuts, Mamra almonds and various types of berries are grown by residents of this area. Majid is the head of the family living with his wife and three sons. One of his sons hold a doctorate degree in sociology, another one in plant sciences, and his youngest son is a Mechanical Engineer. However, they consider themselves farmers first and work shoulder to shoulder with their father in their own farm.
